Virgin Islands man suspected in neighbor’s killing
CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) — U.S. Virgin Islands police are hunting for a man suspected of stabbing a neighbor to death and then torching the dead man’s house.
Police issued a wanted poster Monday for 30-year-old Edwin Encarnacion of St. Croix. He is wanted in the slaying of a 45-year-old man whose body was found in the charred remains of his house in Estate Whim.
Police did not give a possible motive for Saturday’s killing but said witnesses reported seeing Encarnacion at the scene.
St. Croix Police Chief Oakland Benta said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
