BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Pastor and social commentator Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline has warned Virgin Islanders to beware of a pending energy lockdown.

Speaking on his show, Honestly Speaking on ZBVI 780 AM on June 2, 2026, Pastor Skelton-Cline said: “Look for what is going to result into an energy lockdown. A lockdown that’s going to come as a result of a lack of fuel.” He said this is already happening in places like Australia and will soon be seen in the United States.

“You’re already seeing where certain quadrants, certain zip codes, certain days where cars can move, certain days where ACs can run, certain days when you can only buy fuel. Hear me by the spirit of wisdom…I’m telling you, be mindful of what is going to be called an energy lockdown.”

Don’t think we’re not being impacted

Skelton-Cline added that the Virgin Islands cannot think there is no impact from the “silly decisions” that are being made and wars that are being fought.

“Think that the Strait of Hormuz and Strait of Malacca are not impacting what happens in the grocery stores in this country, what happens in the local businesses, what’s happening with fuel charges at BVIEC.”

Skelton-Cline assured that he is not saying any of these things to create panic, but to get the VI prepared, both those in leadership and those who are not.

Hire me

“I’ve been beating this horse; I’ve been pounding on this table for months now,” he said. “You all don’t know what to do? Call me, hire me.”

Skelton-Cline explained that even when he is unsure of what to do, he has enough sense to find people who are more intelligent in the areas of need, bring them to the table, and take their wisdom and advice and execute it.

“That’s what you do; that’s what leadership does.”

You just admitted you don’t know where to go. But on the next hand saying you know how to find people to help.. sir go take a seat and continue to run your mouth. Best of you.
