J’la is VI New Year’s baby!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – J’la Linton, a bouncing baby girl, is the Virgin Islands’ first newborn for the New Year.
She was born at 5:15 am today, January 1, 2012 at the Peebles Hospital located in Road Town, on the main island of Tortola.
Virgin Islands News Online spoke with the proud mother Yessica George, who was pleased with the outcome.
“Actually my due date was January 3, 2012 but I went into labour late yesterday afternoon,” the exhausted mother said with a smile. J’la weighs seven pounds, nine ounces.
This is the first child for the Purcell Estate resident.
