NEW YORK, USA- In a continued effort to enhance educational and professional development opportunities for Public Officers in the Virgin Islands, Dr Connie E. George, the Director of the Virgin Islands Public Service Learning Institute (VIPSLI), made a significant visit to Monroe University in New York, USA, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

According to a Facebook post by the Office of the Deputy Governor, Dr George held a meeting with the University President, Marc M. Jerome.

The discussions focused on the shared vision of advancing the skills and career prospects of Public Officers through tailored educational programmes.

Signing of MOU

The VIPSLI and Monroe University are expected to formalise their partnership by establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). 

This MOU is aimed at creating a collaborative framework that will facilitate the development of new academic courses, training initiatives, and career advancement opportunities specifically designed for Public Officers across the Virgin Islands Public Service. 

The collaboration seeks not only to improve the educational landscape but also to ultimately enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public service in the region.
