PAHO’s Country advisor updated on VI’s health policies

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands’ (VI) health officials provided Dr. Tomo Kanda, Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) Chronic Disease and Mental Health Advisor for the Office of Eastern Caribbean Countries with an overview of the health sector and discussed the Territory’s progress on policies related to mental health, healthy aging, diet and nutrition and chronic diseases.

Increase in Chickenpox cases reported

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Ministry of Health and Social Development is advising that there has been a marked increase in the number of cases of Chickenpox reported in the Territory. Residents are therefore urged to remain educated about the Varicella-Zoster virus, commonly referred to as Chickenpox and how it can be prevented.
