ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Great news for the thousands of Guyanese living in the Virgin Islands, with the much anticipated announcement today Wednesday, November 16, 2011 that Digicel has made it much cheaper to call home.

According to a press release, Commercial Manager Su Thomas said Digicel is pleased to make it known that at only 19 cents per minute, Digicel is now the best value provider to use when calling Guyana. She said this represents a whopping 24 percent in savings to Digicel customers.

“Effective immediately, Digicel has slashed rates for family and friends to call Guyana,” she stated. “We have heard the repeated calls from the Guyanese community here over the years and we have been working feverishly on coming up with a solution and here it is!”

Thomas explained that this reduced rate to call Guyana is specifically targeted at prepaid subscribers and there are no sign up requirements. “Just pick up your phone and dial away,” she said, “any weekday evening and on the weekend.”

The new Guyana rate plan is available to all existing and new Digicel customers, so if you do not yet have a Digicel phone and SIM card, now is the time to get on board to enjoy great savings.

Drop by the Digicel Flagship Store weekdays between 9am and 6pm or on Saturday from 9am to 3pm.
