Ernesto McClean - VINO

Ernesto Mclean was sentenced 7 years in jail on Thursday, March 01 2010 in the High Court by Judge Rita Joseph-Olivetti.

On Thursday, March 25 2010, McClean was found guilty of burglary of Scotiabank by a nine member jury, where he stole over $300,000 on June 12, 2007.

Sentencing was moved from Wednesday, March 31 2010 to this morning due to positive character references given by counsellors and lecturers of the ex-Scotiabank employee.

Ernesto McClean who was represented by Dr. J.S Archibald, Anthea Smith and Duane Jean Baptiste evaded the maximum sentence of 14 years in prison and was sentenced 7 years.

A character reference provided by Dennis Gill, one of McClean’s counsellors during his college education said that McClean has great potential and intelligence. “I found McClean to have critical thinking skills. If rehabilitated, he will be able to function in society in an effective way.”
