ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – For anybody still in the slightest doubt, festival is well and truly with us and the proof was in the pudding as one strolled through the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park, and that is exactly what hundreds of hungry people did on Friday.

The Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee whetted the appetites for what is to come for the rest of the weekend with its annual Cultural Food Fair for Festival 2010.

Local delights such as doved pork, cassava bread, boiled sugar apples and saltfish were on offer from the half dozen or more vendors on hand to take care of the hungry and thirsty.

Dj Dre and DJ Bertrum were both on hand to keep the party atmosphere going and local drinks like mauby, lime aid and passion fruit were in plentiful supply to keep people cool and refreshed.

To coin a well known phrase, the Festival Committee is also kicking it up a notch at the Corinne Brewley Festiville Village tonight with reggae night. Gregory Isaac is on the line up, along with T.O.K., Demarco and the Showtime Band.

After the car and boat show at Nanny Cay on Saturday, it’s International music night at the Village, featuring Caribbean artist, Oscar B and his All Star Band, popular reggae and dancehall singer, Ce´Cile, Adesh Samaroo and Ding Dong.

Sunday is the Miss BVI Pageant and Monday the rise and shine tramp at 4.00am followed by the parade. Tuesday sees the horseracing at the Ellis Thomas Downs.
