The organisers of the D.A.R.E. Club hope to empower young ladies to achieve their goals and also to be positive role models for others, a press release from the Miss Teen Diva Committee stated.

D.A.R.E. stands for Dream Achieve Relate Empower. The reigning Miss Teen Diva, Rashada Robinson, will be a part of this exciting new club as this will be her community service project.

Members of the club will participate in activities that stimulate their minds, bodies and souls. The planned activities include group discussions, field trips, general knowledge challenges, church visits, camping events, debates, gaming events, fundraising activities, social events, sporting events and more.

The club is a non-profit organization that will meet every first and third Saturday of each month from 4:00-6:00 pm at the East End Long Look Community Centre. For more information about the club, interested persons can call 441-2663 or 544-6620. Young ladies and their parents are invited to come to the first informative meeting on Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 pm.
