EUGENE, Oregon, USA- Virgin Islands’ sprint phenom Adaejah T. Hodge turned the opening round of the women’s 100 metres into one of the most stunning sprint moments in NCAA history on Thursday, June 11, 2026, bursting to a wind-legal 10.63 seconds at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

The University of Georgia freshman demolished Sha’Carri Richardson’s 10.75 seconds NCAA Championships Record from 2019, and also shattered her own 10.77 PB, and National record.

Hodge to feature in 100m Final on Saturday

Hodge, who advances to the final set for Saturday, June 13, 2026, now stands as the NCAA #3 of all time and #5 in the world.

Louisiana State University (LSU) student Shawnti Jackson also advanced automatically, finishing second in 10.88, a strong time that was still left far behind by Hodge’s record-smashing run. The NCAA format sends the top two from each heat into the next round, along with the next three fastest times overall.

Brianna Selby of University of South Carolina (USC) finished third in 10.94. Tennessee’s Dana Wilson was fourth in 11.01, while South Carolina’s JaMeesia Ford ran a season-best 11.02 for fifth. Victoria Cameron of Tarleton State finished sixth in 11.06.
