ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Business Administration major Rhiann Ramlall received the President’s Award for the highest full-time GPA, while Accounting and Finance major Erisha Bobb was awarded the President’s Award for the highest part-time GPA during the 33rd graduation ceremony of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC).

The ceremony took place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex under the theme “Time to Thrive” with a total of 217 students participating in the graduation ceremony.

According to a press release from the institution, 219 students applied for graduation, but only 217 met the criteria and were approved, with 151 females and 66 males graduating.

Seventeen students graduated with honours, including 11 Cum Laude recipients, 4 Magna Cum Laude recipients, and 2 Summa Cum Laude recipients.

Other top students

Among the other notable achievers were D’Aunte Williams, who received the Vice President’s Award for Outstanding Character and Leadership at HLSCC, and Noah Fox, who received the Excellence in Technical Studies Award. The Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teacher Education went to Angeleah Cupid, while Kayla Briggs received the Excellence in Mathematics and Science Award. The Eva Baskin Eco-Science Distinction Award was presented to RayAnna Depeza. Emmanuel Stoutt was named the Most Improved Culinary Student, and Rhiann Ramlall was recognised as the Top Business Administration Student. Nickeya Vanterpool received the Financial Leadership Excellence Award, and Alysa Penn was honoured with the Business Innovation Award. Erisha Bobb was awarded the Ernst & Young Top Accounting Student Award, and Malik Brewley was recognised as the Top Finance Student. Malakai Brewle was named the Most Improved Business Student. 

Additionally, Carolyn Hernandez received the Class of 1996 Anniversary Scholar Award, Jayden Fahie received the Class of 2006 Award in Finance – the Economic Resiliency Award, and Yohancé Richards was awarded the Class of 2016 Award in Science in Memory of Riiyah Nibbs. Diandra Phillips was honoured with the P3 - Paper, Plastics & Product Award in Business Administration, earning the Futurist Leadership Award. Dawnique Joseph received the Computer Studies Capstone Project Award, while Kaaliq Pickering was recognised with the Business Information Systems Award. The Auto Smiley’s Garage Award went to Shae’Quan, and the Counsel’s Choice Award was presented to Zarea Richards.

Degrees awarded

HLSCC conferred a total of 229 degrees, which included associate degrees, certificates, and professional qualifications. This included 69 associate of arts degrees, 74 associate of science degrees, 2 associate of applied science degrees, 44 certificates of achievement, and 40 professional certificates through programs such as the Chartered Management Institute, Effective School Leadership, and University Teaching and Learning.

The institution awarded the most associate degrees in Business Administration, totalling 44, followed by 24 associate degrees in General Science, 10 associate degrees in Human Services, and 9 associate degrees in Accounting.

More than one degree

HLSCC also awarded 8 Double Awards, given to Wendell Ballantyne Jr. (1 degree, 1 certificate), Erisha Bobb (2 degrees), Diego Holder (2 degrees), Kiara Levy (2 degrees), Je’Bron Parsons (2 certificates), Malachi Peters (2 certificates), John Robin (2 degrees), and Joshua Thomas (1 degree, 1 certificate). 

Two Triple Awards were given to Jayden Fahie (2 degrees, 1 certificate) and Carlos Martinez-Matos (1 degree, 2 certificates).

The theme of this year’s graduation reflected a moment of transition, growth, and readiness, signifying not only the achievements of the graduating class but also the College’s evolution as it enters a new phase of academic and national impact.

The keynote address was delivered by the Right Honourable Dame Janice M. Pereira, DBE, LLD, and the Graduate Respondent was D’Aunte Williams, whose remarks echoed the resilience and aspirations of the Class of 2026.
