Road between Johnson’s Ghut and Long Trench closed

Several roadways across the Virgin Islands including this one in the Ballast Bay area has suffered extensive damage from days of heavy rain.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Ministry of Communications and Works is notifying the motoring public that effective immediately the road between Johnson’s Ghut and Long Trench is closed.

Due to heavy rains the road has been undermined and is now unsafe for motorists to travel.

The public is advised to use alternate routes in the interest of safety.
