Reynold Corum remained firmly focused as he pitched the Blue Wings to a 10-9 win over the VG Ballaz.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Darier Malone hit 3 clean out the park, Jelissa Potter added 3 more and once again the ESHS Rams proved unbeatable at the 15th Ruby Rutnick Softball Tournament played in St John over the weekend.

The organisers of the tournament pulled out all the stops in an effort to keep the trophy in the USVI and out of the ESHS Rams hands. Recognising the threat of the Rams lineup, they decided to merge all the best players in St John, St Thomas and St Croix into an All Star Team.  All to no avail as the Rams came home with the trophy taking care of business in their usual “get it done” fashion.

Darier Malone hit 3 homers out of the park, Jeliisa “Shelley”  Potter also hit 3, J’Heane Niles hit 1 as did Denecia Hodge to name but a few of the scorers. The Rams won the first game 5-1, then second 14-13 the third “by a lot” according to Jelissa Potter and in the championship game were taken to an extra inning before winning by one to complete yet another undefeated Ruby Rutnick Tournament.

Also in the squad were Bria, Kia, Thea and Riiah along with Karen, Flower and Misha.

Back in the domestic Fast pitch league

The Warriors came in for more punishment in their second game of the weekend as they went down 21-3 to the Pythons. Karen Gonzalez hit 2 home runs as did Darier Malone and Jelissa Potter added another to keep the Pythons unbeaten this season. Riiah Durante took the win from the mound and the home run queens also added 11 runs and 12 RBI’s between them.

The Lady Braves completed back to back wins with an 11-2 win over the ESHS Rams. Perline Leonard went 2 for 3, scored 2 and added 2 RBI’s,  Jahresha Skelton scored 3 and knocked in one more. For the Rams,  Shereen George scored 1 run.

In the Men’s Division the Blue Wings caught up with East Invaders in the standings thanks to a narrow 10-9 win over the VG Ballaz and the Reds crushing the Invaders 15-9.

The Blue Wings Reynold Corum led the Wings from the mound with Khoy Frett scoring a homer.
