Rotary Club Sunrise welcomes presentation on personal finance

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town welcomed James Bridgewater and Adam Stauffer of Offshore Investment Advisor, a Wealth Manager based on Tortola, on April 26, 2011.
According to Public Relations Director of the club Edwin Adams, James and Adam delivered an educational presentation on personal finance, including the effects that inflation, a declining US dollar and compounding returns have on an investor’s ability to save for retirement.
Introductions were made by James who thanked President Ken Guiste, Sergeant At Arms Hesketh Vanterpool, Nagi Darwish and all Rotary Club Sunrise members for the opportunity to present.
After a brief introduction on Offshore Investment Advisor, James introduced Adam Stauffer, Chief Investment Officer, and former ETF trader at Barclays Capital.
Adam, who is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA from The Wharton School of Business, explained the effects that historically low interest and CD rates have on investors’ savings accounts as well as the importance of starting to invest at a young age. He went on to explain some of the investments that Offshore Investment Advisor uses for their clients’ separately managed portfolios in order to enhance yield well above CD rates.
James concluded the presentation with a demonstration of Offshore Investment Advisor’s retirement planning tools that include a Budget Planner, a Risk Tolerance Questionnaire as well as a Saving & Retirement Calculator, Adams stated in a press release.
The Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town was chartered on 31 March, 2009 with 23 members and has grown to 34 members. The Club meets Tuesdays at 7am at Maria’s By the Sea Hotel.
