USVI to invest more in horseracing – Governor deJongh
RED HOOK, St. Thomas, USVI – It’s one of the most popular sporting events in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), and Governor John P. deJongh Jr. seeing the potential it has for job opportunities pledged his support in boosting horseracing in the USVI.
East End Tap’s future looks grim
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A veterinarian is expected to be flown in from Miami next week to gauge the condition of one of the Territory’s top horses, East End Tap, to determine if his injury would have him “up and running” as a pleasure horse or put to sleep.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Michael ‘Lulu’ Smith, the owner of Bud White- the most talked about horse that recently won the second leg of the Triple Crown in St. Croix, says he is preparing his horse for the third and final leg of the Triple Crown and welcomes any new challengers including those new horses rumoured to have arrived in Tortola.
No conflict with Triple Crown & District Party – Hon. Fraser
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The 3rd District Christmas Party planned by district representative Hon, Julian Fraser RA will proceed as planned on Saturday January 14, 2012 and will not hinder in any way with the Triple Crown races scheduled for Sunday January 15.
UPDATE: Vendors meeting with Premier postponed
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Disgruntled vendors, who operate on race days at Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay, will have to hold a little while longer for their concerns to be addressed as the reported meeting that was scheduled for yesterday January 4, 2012 with Premier Dr. D. Orlando Smith did not come off.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Yesterday, Sunday December 11, 2011 in St. Thomas at the Clinton E. Phipps Racing Park, Tortola’s new big horse Broken Home, owned by the Boys Stable headed by Rodney Simmons, came first in the feature race.
