Vanterpool stopped by Court of Appeal; No legal costs awarded!

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The appeals filed by Speaker of the House of Assembly (HoA), Hon Julian Willock against the decision of Justice Ann-Marie Smith for Hon Mark H. Vanterpool (R4) to be sworn in as a member of the House came up for hearing this morning Wednesday, July 17, 2019, before the Court of Appeal comprising Justices Louise Esther Blenman, Gertel Thom and Eamon Courtenay.

Group of citizens hire Attorney to challenge election qualifications

Rodriquez — has written to the St Thomas Board of Elections asking it not to certify the April 8, 2017 special election results, which saw Janelle K. Sarauw winning the contest, until the Third Circuit Court of Appeals issues a verdict on Mr Rodriquez’s appeal.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal (Virgin Islands) has ruled in favour of Delta Petroleum in relation to the seizure by HM Customs of Delta’s fuel storage tank No 7 at Pockwood Pond, Tortola, together with its contents (some 248,000 US gallons) on September 20, 2012.

Court of Appeal rejects Oliver J. Lewis bail application

Lewis, the Guyanese computer technician embroiled in child sex allegations yesterday April 6, 2016 sought to obtain bail for his client in the Court of Appeal but this was turned down on the basis of his not qualifying according to the set threshold.

Kevin Greaves not getting back $13K

Daniels representing Mr Kevin Greaves asked the court to pardon his absences as he was believed to have been delayed in travelling from St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands (USVI) but he was in total disagreement with the decision not to have the Crown return in excess of $13k to his client.

Stoddard’s file has been wiped cleaned after the Appeal Court during the most recent sitting found that he was wrongfully implicated in a 2007 robbery.
