BVIAA to host biennial simulation exercises @ all VI airports

BEEF ISLAND, VI – Persons in the Virgin Islands (VI) are being notified that the BVI Airports Authority will be hosting its biennial emergency simulation exercises at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (Beef Island), Auguste George International Airport (Anegada), and the Virgin Gorda International Airport (Virgin Gorda) between the period of Monday, October 16 and Friday, November 17.

‘I cannot say there was a sickout’ of airport staff – Kurt A.G. Menal

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA), Mr Kurt A.G. Menal says he cannot say there was a sickout of BVIAA Airport staff who reportedly took industrial action by calling in sick, which resulted in the closure of the airport on two recent occasions.

VG & Anegada airports reopen following forced closure over industrial action

TRELLIS BAY, Tortola, VI – The BVI Airport’s Authority (BVIAA) has announced the re-opening of all airports in the Virgin Islands (VI) effective today, July 18, 2023, after industrial action by firefighters at the main airport reportedly forced the authority to divert manpower from other airports to the T.B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island and closing the others.

BEEF ISLAND, VI– Officials of the BVI Airports Authority {BVIAA) have announced that just two weeks into its new direct service between Miami and the Virgin Islands (VI), American Airlines (AA) has announced that it will be doubling the number of flights to the Territory for the winter season, which starts in December.
