When Blacks forget their History of Survival:
We are now deep in Black History Month but can hardly tell because Black Lives still seem not to matter and we are better off neither being seen nor heard… As the World changes before our very eyes, some things remain unchanged while some that took Centuries now happen in mere years… Slaves still put their Hope and Trust in the fables of White Gods and Imaginary Friends.

As we leave this Black History Month I have tried to explain the realistic condition of things in the BVI with the hope that some would recognize Truth and realize the importance of change for the better… Any self-governing emancipated People should know there are no real winners when Politicians and Civil Servants become Oppressors and Tyrants just because they are in power.

February 2013 has arrived and again we celebrate another Black History Month which implies some inherent degree of Affirmative Action and Racism… However, while we should never forget the injustices of Slavery, it would be equally wrong to become stuck in the mentality of blaming the White Race and others for the devious actions or in-actions of our own Brothers and Sisters.
Students interest aroused by honouring of local heroes
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The decision by the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School to recognize certain VIslanders, who made significant contributions to the development of the Territory in celebration of Black History Month, not only caught the attention of the Department of Education but most importantly- the students.
