Overturned car on Johnson’s Ghut a danger- Resident

JOHNSON’S GHUT, Tortola, VI- It is unclear whether the car toppled whilst being driven or fell from a road above, but the presence of the overturned vehicle on the Johnson’s Ghut Road, on the main island of Tortola, for the past two days is causing some concern.

Should the VI’s border security be heightened?

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A caller to the radio programme ‘Speak Out BVI’, which was aired on Tuesday January 1, 2012, was of the opinion that border security should be heightened as a measure of preventing persons coming into the Territory from the neighbouring US Virgin Islands with the intention of committing crimes.

HOVENSA closure should be of much concern for VI- Hon. Fraser

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- With the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) Governor John deJongh Jr announcing in December that by the end of January 2012, approximately 1,000 government employees would be dismissed with the HOVENSA oil refinery in St Croix, US Virgin Islands closing operations, 3rd District Representative and former Minister for Communications and Works Hon. Julian Fraser RA says the Virgin Islands should be very concerned.
