OMG allegedly snubbed by Jouvert Sub-Committee; Out of Rise & Shine Tramp
MAYERS, Tortola, VI- There seems to be another controversy looming over the Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival, this time over which bands will be on the road for the 2023 August Monday (August 7) Rise and Shine Tramp.
No Rise & Shine but revelers ‘wet fete’ instead!
DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- The usual Rise and Shine Tramp on August Monday morning as part of the Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival, was not a feature this year due to COVID-19 control and suppression measures in place; however, a wet fete was staged instead.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Chairman of the Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee Mr Marvin ‘MB’ Blyden isn’t too concerned about the “few” fights that took place during the 2013 Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival celebrations, especially at the Ira Oliver Skelton Festiville in Road Town, since there were no reports of serious injuries.

SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI - Just when all seemed to have been going well at the Rise and Shine Tramp at the Darwin George Festival Ground in Virgin Gorda on April 1, 2013, a fist fight resulted in Police calling a halt to the celebration.
