2016 Budget still not passed amidst increased hardship for those owed!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The National Democratic Party (NDP) has failed to pass a 2016 Budget amidst continued claims by the Opposition, civil society and the media that the country is broke due to the NDP raiding the Treasury to buy and win the 2015 general elections.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After the June 8, 2015 General Elections that saw the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) Government returned to power in a landslide victory, the first casualty of victimisation was reported to be long time civil servant and Virgin Islander Ms Laurel L. Smith.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - While the Government struggles to pay its bills, some statutory Government bodies are complaining about not receiving timely Government contributions via subventions, resulting in late payments to workers, no transparency in terms of the Government’s accurate balance sheets, the National Democratic Party (NDP) Administration is yet to announce a 2016 Budget Address date.

Rand Paul Blamed for Blocking FATCA

(ACCOUNTING TODAY)- The research and advocacy organization Global Financial Integrity is urging Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., to allow the Senate to vote on agreements negotiated by the Treasury Department with Switzerland, Luxembourg, Hungary and other countries to implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, or FATCA, in an effort to ferret out tax evaders.
