CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- A [British] Virgin Islands (VI) national was arrested on December 28, 2021, in St Thomas on a criminal charge related to his failure to stop his vessel when ordered to do so by United States Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine (CBP-AMO) agents.

According to court documents, William Malone was operating the vessel in Coral Bay, St John.

CBP-AMO agents activated their blue lights and sirens to stop Malone’s vessel, and verbally ordered him to stop the vessel.

Malone did not comply. Agents fired several warning rounds and, when Malone did not stop, fired a disabling round into his engine. Malone then turned off the engine, after traveling for a short distance.

Malone facing 5-year prison term

Malone is charged with failure to heave to, under 18 U.S.C. §2237(a)(1). If convicted, Malone faces a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

CBP-AMO and Homeland Security Investigations are investigating the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam Sleeper is prosecuting the case.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

WHAT AN IDIOT! What was he trying to hide and being in the U.S. waters and not stopping? Anything that he gets thrown at him, he deserves. Too much criminal activity going on.

I hope no one get mad at me for saying this, tell me, when you were born, did the midwife accidentally drop you on your cone shaped head? Harassing BVI PEOPLE? The j$%%^&$$ was in US territory and disobeyed a order to stop. Dude he was not in Tortola where people get away with the nonsense. He better be glad they did not blast his behind and the boat out of the water. Tell your BVI PEOPLE DEM TO STOP GOING DOWN TO STT TO RUN THEIR DRUGS AND THEY WILL NOT GET HARASSED. He got 5 years to see what true prison living is, not a hotel like up on the hill.

Tell you one thing, he is going to walk a straight line in that St. Thomas prison. It ain’t like the BVI prison where you come and go as you please, demand what you go eat and what you not go eat or walking around with street clothes or jewelry on. Bet he stressing.

For sure, in that prison they tell you when it is time to go to sleep and when to wake up. You don’t want to eat the food the tax payers is paying for, you stave. You disrespect a CO, you get punish. You wear that prison uniform that is issue to you upon arrival. That prison is run by CO’s not inmates like the BVI.In the BVI the prison is known as the LUXARY HOTEL ON THE HILL IN THE US THE PRISON IS KNOWN AS HELL HOTEL.

The fool though he was going to out run the agents and run into BVI waters. Dude got got this time. If the fool had obey the command to stop, they might have let him go with a warning or a ticket unless he had something to hide.Stay out of US waters because they are watching like hawks.

Because they think they can outsmart the law like they be doing in the BVI. Plenty more of them will be doing time in US prisons.

CBP in the USVI targets escaping speedboats. JTF in the BVI targets charter yachts at the docks and in boat yards. The sailing capital of the world will soon need sailors to wear bullet proof clothing, armoured covered engines and security briefcases with the vessel's papers.

CBP is elite trained. One they scope you out on the water, there is no running or out running you are trap. They give you a order to stop, stop. You carrying and trying to hide, they are going to find it be it you toss it or have it buried in your boat. You don’t want to get caught, you BVI boys need to stay away from ST.John and ST.THOMAS doing your dirt.
