103 active COVID-19 cases in VI; 8 new
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Territory's Epidemiological Summary has revealed that 103 active COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the [British] Virgin Islands, following testing done on April 26, 2022, and reported on April 27, 2022.

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- The [US] Virgin Islands Department of Health (DoH) is urging the public to practice safety protocols as COVID-19 infections have surged recently, and as hospitalisations continue to increase — a result DoH says is driven by the Omicron subvariant named BA.2, which is now the dominant strain of the virus in both the US and US Virgin Islands.

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- The BA.2 variant of Covid-19 continues to give rise to new infections in the U.S. Virgin Islands after being identified in the territory last week, but there are few signs that BA.2, which is a subvariant of the original Omicron strain of Covid-19, will cause a surge to the levels seen late December and through January in the Virgin Islands.
