BREWERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Three men were taken into custody on Sunday, December 6, 2020, for allegedly discharging a firearm in the Brewers Bay community, reports reaching our newsroom have stated.

Information reaching our newsroom indicates that residents of the community were quick to summon the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) after reportedly hearing a spate of gunshots and fearing that a vehicle may have been hit in the process around 5:30pm.

Residents reportedly kept a close eye on a group of men they spotted acting suspiciously in the area where the loud explosions were heard and police swooped down on the suspects in short order.

It is not clear if any firearm was recovered by police or whether anyone was injured.

This news site had reported on Sunday December 6, 2020, that a driver reportedly opened fire in close proximity of the East End Police Station in the wee hours of Sunday.

No one was reportedly injured.

It is unclear if any arrests have been made.

How many illegal fire arms are out there? For them to be fired with such abandon it must be a lot. We need much more law enforcement including from UK asap to try to recover these weapons and stop more being smuggled in. We need 6 months of cordon and search and unscheduled vehicle check points and a reward program.

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. YOU SEE STRANGE PEOPLE OR STRANGE VEHICLES IN YOUR HOOD, DROP A QUICK DIME. EVERYONE KNOWS THEIR HOOD AND WHO LIVES IN THEIR HOOD. BY THE WAY, HOOD DOES NOT MEAN YOU LIVE IN A BAD AREA.

Good job by the Police and most of all to the citizens that called it in. This is positive movement! It seems as though these low lives are practicing to rob people during the holiday season. Everyone should be aware of their surroundings at all times and not show flashy things to be snatched. Keep your money in more than one place on your body. I am sick of these criminals making us live in fear. We never had to before and we have to take our freedom back from these crooks!
