Perhaps on his way to rob or unalive someone.why you riding around with a Glock and bullets. I strongly believe in stop and search. Well at least one more gun off the streets. Thing is people here is so damn stupid, they fail to see how important stop and search is. The police pull me over I don’t have a problem with it, I don’t have anything to hide or have anything illegal in my vehicle.

“What went wrong with this youth? He is such a sweetheart.”

      What went wrong? **The culture.**

We have to be honest about the culture we are currently promoting and the influence it has on young people.

We have normalized a culture that increasingly glorifies criminality, disrespect for authority, anti-police attitudes, disorder, partying, excessive drinking, drugs, promiscuity, vulgarity, gangs, violence and the idea of living a “fast life.”

Listen to the music being blasted at many of our events. A lot of it glorifies sex, drugs, guns, gangs, violence and criminal lifestyles. Then look at some of the behavior at the events themselves.

Festival just passed. How many fights did we see?

At J’ouvert, how many young people were throwing up gang and gun signs in photographs and videos? How many were wearing ski masks or similar coverings that resemble the masks criminals use to conceal their identities?

And somehow, we have reached a point where much of this is considered **normal**.

      That is the problem.

Young people are impressionable. When they constantly see certain behavior celebrated, defended and presented as the standard, some will naturally imitate it. Even young people who know better can feel pressured when everyone around them is participating. Eventually, doing the wrong thing can start to feel normal while doing the right thing makes you look “weird.”

      Then something serious happens.

      A murder.
      A shooting.
      A gun seizure.
      A drug seizure.
      A violent incident.

Suddenly, the same community is shocked and crying out for peace.

But we cannot have it both ways.

You cannot openly promote, defend or normalize a culture that glorifies violence, gangs, drugs, disrespect and reckless behavior, and then act surprised when some young people eventually embody what they have been exposed to.

If we genuinely want to reduce crime, we have to be willing to challenge **everything that contributes to the culture surrounding it**—not just condemn the crime after it happens.

And this isn't about saying every young person who attends a festival, enjoys music or goes to a party is a criminal. Obviously, they aren't. The point is that **repeated exposure to certain behaviors and messages can influence people**, especially young people who are still developing their values and identity.

We also need to stop being afraid to challenge popular opinions simply because some young adults will become loud and defensive.

Being loud doesn't make an argument correct. Being popular doesn't make something positive. And being part of a particular lifestyle doesn't automatically make someone a good role model.

If the culture we are promoting cannot even produce peaceful events without fights, disorder and people behaving recklessly, then perhaps we need to seriously question the culture itself.

We cannot demand peace while continuously celebrating the things that undermine it.

**If we want different results from our youth, we have to start promoting different values.**

Now Vern gonna be somebody's sweet tooth up balo and he'll probably like it judging from his looks. Dive innnn

Parents let’s normalize trimming your son’s hair again. Like those locks do something to their brains, it takes the sense out of their heads and replaces it with ash. Quit thinking it’s cute and stop growing your baby’s hair beyond 3 years. Get a grip from this nonsense. 99.9% of black dudes in this place with locks running drugs, living criminal lifestyle and playing gangsters. Also, what are you teaching your boys???? We have got to do better. Your children are born brilliant. Help them to be the best version of themselves.

I agree with your comment 1,000%. Once the little boys pass 3 years old it is time to give them a decent hair cut, stop putting earrings in your little boys ears and putting a big chain on their neck and letting their pants swag under their behinds, that shit is not cute. You hood rats may think it is cute but it is not cute. That is some ghetto fabulous shit. I admire the young males in the BVI that is well groomed. You may have dread locks but the locks should always be well maintained and groomed at all times.

I admire the clean cut young men. Not the ones whose pants is almost wrapped around their knees where you can see their underpants, why wear sweatpants and hoodies in the heat? Sweats and hoodies is an urban wear that is worn in cold weather not tropical weather. The dose not get cold enough for sweat pants and hoodies.

EXACTLY MY POINT! They ain't no damn Rastas. That is why I attacked the hair and did not mention anything about RASTAS. True RASTAS are NOT involved in criminal activities. Also, stop using the word retarded since you obviously do not know the meaning. The word "retarded" is not synonymous with "stupid" which is what you are!

What happen to all those people screaming "FREE TeeJay" ? The only difference between Teejay and Poochie is TeeJay never been caught in the past. They say Teejay only need it for protection so isnt it the same for poochie? People in the BVI cry for the police to get a handle on gun crimes but when they do they get chastised depending on who the person is. The Law should be the Law irrespective of popularity. People who goes outside the law for protection typically has been involved in outside the law activities. We are tired of crying for our sons....please encourage the youth to seek money the legal way.
