Why hit and run? Are people that coward if you do a mistake, we try to sweep it under the rug. The person could have at least tried to help the lady? It is sad to know this is what the world has come to, not only BVI but people will sell you off if they have the chance or try to destroy you just to get ahead but they are always the first to say they're religious or kind hearted. I'm no better because we are all sinners, every single one of us but at least show compassion for others in desperate need even when you inadvertently caused it. :/

so sorry i am a walker always on the road myself ,but i notice most walkers wear too much dark clothing and that is not good. Most times we get lucky but a lot of drivers complain that they dont see us which is true, we have to put on bright colours.

Drivers need to read the road way ahead of them; if we keep reading right in front us we going always be in an accident. It's part of our responsibility.

According to the time the incident said to have occured was 5:40 AM now that was still pretty dark especially if she was not wearing one of those vest that glows in the dark. (6:30 Am is rather dark far less 5:40), it is possible that the driver did not see her, but that does not give the driver the right to run, suppose it was his/her mother or sister doing their early morning walk, would they have run the same way?

I like your comment it's neutral who knows what the hitter experienced, its sad though, i would never hit and run but lets remember they turned themselves in quickly, though some respect is lost for running we are not still wondering days and weeks about the matter. Be honest and while i pray for Mrs. Mahoney i pray for you also.

Wat in the dickens was he doin on the complete OPPOSITE side of the road? I understand he was frightened, but to then to come back to the scene of the incident and not even ask if the young lady was ok? Seriously??

But on a different note. My prayers are with the Mahoney family.

Lets not quick to blame the motorist...5:40am is rather dark and that hill the one of the commentors mentioned is somewhat of a blind corner...As early morning or late night walkers please be considerate of your safety and where bright colours when walking. They are lit up vests available that you can buy. I understand the motorist ran yes it was a coward move but he was filled with frieght...Imagine how scared and trembled he was. Until he catch hiself and turn himself in.

I understand your comment and do have to agree that people do make some silly last minute irrational decisions. This is where a person must stop and think for a moment because your presence on the accident scene could save a life. Never run away from it. Running from your responsibility is not an option. We are living in a civil society and must act accordingly. Civilize people make wise decisions at the spur of the moment. Let us as a society teach each other how to be a bit more civilized in unforeseen circumstances.

At least he had the good grace to turn himself in. Many others may not have done the same. I pray that Asiyah recovers fully from this. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Draw strenght from the prayers and good words of others Frank, I know what you're going through right now.
