CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- Students and teachers of the debating team of the Claudia Creque Educational Centre in Anegada had little time to celebrate their success at the preliminary round of the Inter Schools Debating Competition on Tortola on Monday, January 27, 2020, as they fell victim to burglary during the night.

According to reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online, the debating team was staying at a guest house in Cane Garden Bay where the burglary occurred.

This news site was told that the perpetrator/s took the bags of the guests and emptied the contents outside of the building.

It was discovered that an iPhone and cash were taken.

The empty bags and other contents were reportedly recovered separately.

It is unclear where the debating team was at the time of the burglary.

Police have confirmed the incident.

“I can confirm that we received a report of a burglary last night in Cane Garden Bay. Investigations are ongoing,” Police Information Officer, Akia L. Thomas told Virgin Islands News Online this afternoon, January 28, 2020.

It is unclear if any arrests have been made.

The Claudia Creque Educational Centre’s debating team defeated Virgin Islands Schools of Technical Studies (VISTS) last night.

And don’t steel from visitors, whether from here at home, or from abroad.
People in Cane Garden Bay, and all over the islands, are working hard in the Tourism Industry.
Don’t make it harder for everybody else, and unsafe and inhospitable to our guests.
So Sorry for the students from Anegada.
