MANHATTAN, New York, USA- 23-year-old George Fay, whose father is a well-known figure in the judicial system in the Virgin Islands, was sentenced on Tuesday April 17, 2018 to 10 years in prison for raping a sleeping woman in an Upper East Side, New York apartment.

Fay, 23, who attended New England prep schools, was convicted on February 2, 2018 of having sex with a 20-year-old college student in 2016 while she was incapable of consent and forcing oral sex on the victim.

According to New York Daily News, prosecutors asked for 15 years behind bars, arguing he forced himself on the woman who was asleep in the apartment where he was spending the summer after a night of drinking.

"George Fay preyed upon the vulnerability of a sleeping woman who thought she was safe inside an apartment with a friend," Manhattan DA Cy Vance Jr said in a statement. "Instead, she awoke to find she was being raped by a complete stranger."

At trial, Assistant District Attorney Sara Sullivan argued the predator searched Backpage.com for an escort but did not hire one. Failing that, she said Tuesday, he went for the victim.

More than 40 supporters wrote presentencing letters on behalf of Fay, attesting to his good character. Fay's father, Michael, is a prominent attorney in the Caribbean.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson said Fay deserved the decade in prison because of the harm he did to the victim in the case. He faced up to 25 years behind bars.

Every time he see his friend Tooney he will remember how Tooney put him behind bars for ten years. No man is above the law. Serve your time, learn and move on. We don't hold the son's behaviour against the father. Mr. Faye, hold up your head.

This is a hard lesson young Fay but learn it well. Your friend wasn't your friend. Hope you see what your parents were trying to protect you from all these years. This is not the end...some of the great men on this earth had shady beginnings...you can rise above this. You made some bad choices...but you can rise above them.

@ Hard lesson. You made sense except for the part about “your friend wasn’t your friend.” Was his friend supposed to lie for him? He did the crime, now he must do the time. What if it was YOUR daughter? One sided view.

No matter how people say NYC is, the law don't care who you are or related to, if you commit a crime, they are going to Prosecute you and send you off to prison. That thing about who you are or related to don't fly in NYC/The big apple.

As a parent, I will not rejoice over this. All of us as young people do spur of the moment stuff that have consequences. I believe the guy is a good kid, he just made a bad judgment call. It is situation that none of us want to see our kids end up in, lawyer or not.

If this happened to your child, would you be saying that the rapist had 'bad judgment'?

You were deh? You know all that went on, nuh? You don't know some of these women when they drink their rum and wake up sober. Look at Bill Cosby, the white man after him and his money so let's get a few loose-heads to make up a story.

a few loose head women? How many is that? 3...4...? Try 60. Sixty women of all sizes, shapes and colors have joined the suit against Cosby. That post is just as racist, mysoginistic and ignorant of the facts as a toothpick-sucking Alabama traffic cop. (sorry- that's a generalization too- but you get my meaning, right?)

Today society will build you up and break you down tomorrow... You reap what you sow and the choice Mr young Fay made will hunt him for the rest of his life. We need to pray for all our children . Be strong Fay family.

It's a pretty good read and well worth the read. I hope you will come up with more similar content with a better version. Drift Boss is my favorite driving game that you can join for fun as well as test your eye reflexes. It's really interesting and useful
