FAT HOGS BAY, Tortola, VI - It was an exciting day yesterday, Thursday, December 13, 2018, for youths of the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Ball Club (SCBBC) and children from the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) as former Baltimore Ravens football Linebacker Ray A. Lewis Jr., was on hand.

Mr Lewis Jr. played all of his seventeen year professional career for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL) as a Linebacker. He previously played college football for the University of Miami and earned All-America honours.

Lewis was drafted by the Ravens in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft, and upon his retirement—following the 2012 season—was the last remaining active player from the team's inaugural season.

'You can make it' - Lewis

He grew up without a father and brought some motivation to the youths of the Virgin Islands (VI) who were present. The boys and girls walked away knowing that whatever their individual situation, "They can make it!"

He said, “out of nothing you can be something”, and also told them the importance of starting their own business.

It is unclear when Mr Lewis Jr, who has been selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be leaving Tortola.

I miss that trade mark dance ...Love it...Missed his passion. The fear and intimidation he put in opposing offenses . I still remember the super bowl against the giants when their running backs Kiki Barber those guyz were scared to run the ball afraid of Ray.. My favorit player of all time

And even if it did? The cost to motivate our youth is immeasurable. They are the future this land where you pay tax.

If you don't have any positive words to say regarding this positive event, why say anything. Some of you just post for posting sake. Stupes! You should be on here encouraging the young people.

I am an ultimate fan. Lived in Baltimore for 5 years pre his retirement. His spirit is an absolute inspiration on and off the field. Would love to say hello at least but alas.

SCBBC representing. Good job with getting the youths out and about Mr. Mac. It takes a village to raise a child and with your positive vibes you are showing that you are a part of the Village.
