ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Born on January 1st, 1988 to Carolyn Nelson and Calvin Glasgow, I am twenty five (25) year old Carice Glasgow. My educational journey began at the Kingstown Anglican Primary School where I graduated as Valedictorian.

After graduating primary school, I enrolled in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Girls’ High School, where I graduated in 2003 with nine (9) O’Level subjects, and later that year enrolled in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College: Division of Sciences and Mathematics.

After graduating Community College in 2005, I joined the workforce for two years, after which I enrolled as a freshman in January 2008, at the University of the Virgin Islands. After obtaining an Associates’ Degree in Computer Science in 2010, I began pursuing studies to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. This goal however, was put on hold as I took a sabbatical to compete in the Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines 2012 pageant. I am proud to say that I was successful in this venture, and now have the opportunity to be an ambassador for my country.

At UVI, I have been privileged to be a member of organizations such as the Golden Key International Honour Society, the UVI Varsity Dance Team, The Student Government Association and The Thurgood Marshall Scholars to name a few. However, my most memorable experience there stemmed from being crowned Miss University of the Virgin Islands in 2009, when I was afforded the opportunity to be an ambassador, and to represent UVI in Atlanta at the Black College Queens Competition.

Throughout my life, I have drawn inspiration from the most important person in my life; my mother. Her unwavering strength and love has positively affected me in ways unlike any other. She has always been my main support system, and her continued wisdom and guidance remains a tremendous reason for my numerous accomplishments, including being crowned Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines 2012.

“Be the change you wish to see in the world” is one of my favourite quotes of all time, and it motivates me to live each day with the hope of leaving a positive mark in society.
