VI sees decline in HIV/AIDS cases - Hon. Skelton
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - With individuals being sexually active at a young age, and being faithful is somewhat a thing of the past, HIV/AIDS has the potential to be prevalent in the Virgin Islands (VI) communities, but through the efforts made by various organisations in the VI, the Minister of Health has revealed that there has been a decline in the number of new infections reported in the Virgin Islands.

Hon. Skelton: Public garbage bins are an eyesore!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Public garbage bins are located along the thoroughfares in the Virgin Islands but Minister for Health and Social Development Hon. Ronnie Skelton believes that they are unsightly and wants to remove them.
Hon. Skelton- New Out Patient Clinic to provide quicker care
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - On the local radio talk show, NDP Radio, where the current Ministers of Government and other elected representatives discuss and answer questions made by the public, Minister for Health and Social Development Hon. Ronnie Skelton stated that the new Outpatient Clinic at the Peebles Hospital will provide quicker care to patients.
Thumbs up for Medical School?
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Health and Social Development Hon. Ronnie Skelton believes that if a Medical School is properly established in the Virgin Islands (VI), more persons would be involved in the health care of the Territory and legislation can also be amended to accommodate it.
Is the VI health care system failing local health care personnel?
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - A caller to NDP Radio on March 5, 2012 claimed that there are Virgin Islanders, who have gone away to the United States to train as nurses but although they want to come home after training they cannot because the system is telling them they need two years of practice before they could hire them.
Scrubber not yet installed for new incinerator!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – At least one part of the newly functional incinerator has not yet been installed, and that is the scrubber, which is an air pollution control device that can be used to remove some particles and/or gases from waste facility’s exhaust steams.
VI pays tribute to HIV/AIDS patients
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – With Bob Marley’s “One Love” playing in the background, red balloons were released by health officials and residents in tribute to those for living with HIV/AIDS and in remembrance of those that succumbed to the dreaded disease in the Virgin Islands (VI).
Clear skies at former Pockwood Pond dump site
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Since the testing and operation of the new incinerator began in September residents in surrounding areas have been breathing a sigh of relief as there were no reports of external burning at the former dump site in Pockwood Pond since then.
