ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - As part of Arbour Day celebrations on Friday, November 30, 2018, The J. R. O’Neal Botanical Garden was formally re-opened, having been destroyed by the hurricanes of 2017 which ravaged the Virgin Islands (VI).
Stop cutting down trees 'willy nilly'- Doug Wheatley
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Virgin Islands observed Arbour Day on November 25, 2016 and talk show host Doug Wheatley, commenting on the observance, suggested that a policy be put in place to prevent the indiscriminate cutting down of trees in the Virgin Islands, especially those considered cultural trees and landmarks.
