VI must 'implement measures to lessen shock of rising costs'– Hon Malone
FISH BAY, TORTOLA, VI – At-Large Representative and Opposition Member in the Virgin Islands (VI) House of Assembly (HoA), Hon Carvin Malone (AL) has called on local leaders to bring measures that can mitigate the rising cost of living in the territory.
Cabinet approves $1.3M for immigration detention costs via Supplemental Appropriations
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands met on February 9, 2022, and among other things decided that the funding for associated costs for temporary lodging, security services and meals for immigration detainees be provided via Supplementary Appropriations.
'Majority of people do not want to bear cost of quarantine'- Premier Fahie
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As persons continue to voice their opinion on the recent decision by Government to put a hold on work permit and work permit exemption holders returning the Virgin Islands, Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1) said a large percent of such persons trapped outside the Territory due to the existing ban was not willing to pay for the two-week quarantine.
