VI should have diversified economy earlier rather than later- Lisa Penn-Lettsome
BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI - Executive Director of International Business in the Virgin Islands, Mrs Lisa Penn-Lettsome says the drop in the Territory's financial services sector was mathematically forecasted based on growth figures from the last 20 years, hence, strategies should have been in place to counter the drop in the sector.
VI now a fully compliant jurisdiction under EU tax laws
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The [British] Virgin Islands has now been recognised as a fully compliant jurisdiction for tax purposes under the European Union (EU) having previously been placed on "Annexe ll" of the EU's list while they monitored the Territory’s compliance in matters related to economic substance.
Cabinet approves more $$$ for Economic Substance Legislation
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands Cabinet has approved an additional $150, 000 towards Economic Substance Legislation as the government makes moves to put itself in good standing with European Union (EU) requirements as an offshore financial services jurisdiction.
