UPDATE: Pulling off Easter Races 'wasn’t easy financially'- Lesmore Smith
SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- The VI Horse Owners Association's Easter Sunday Horse Races at Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay drew over a thousand spectators to the 6 race card that saw horses from Antigua participating for the first time. This was hailed a success, considering the sport suffered tremendously since the hurricanes of September 2017.

Bellamy Chief gets sweet revenge in feature clash @ Easter races
SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Bellamy Chief was denied victory on debut at Ellis Thomas Downs on February 28, 2016 by Honors, however, the horse owned by popular horse owner and trainer Lesmore Smith avenged that defeat in the feature clash of the traditional Easter races at Ellis Thomas in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola today, March 27, 2016.

UPDATE: Feature horse race gets $15k increase for purse of $20k
SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – Information just reaching Virgin Islands News Online is that legislators Hon. Myron V. Walwyn, Hon. Mark H. Vanterpool and Hon Archibald C. Christian along with other entities have upped the purse for the highly anticipated three-way clash at Ellis Thomas Downs tomorrow, April 13, 2014 by adding an additional $15,000.
