2nd case of Zika confirmed in USVI

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- A new case of the Zika virus has been confirmed on the island of St Croix, US Virgin Islands, coming one month after the first case was reported. The news was revealed to The Consortium on February 19, 2016 by Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (C.D.C.) officials, during a previously planned interview that took place at the Charles Harwood Memorial Hospital.

Mapp unveiled a landmark agreement that would immediately net the Government of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) $220 million in cash at closing, up to $9 million to settle a legal claim, and up to $6 million for asphalt storage — bringing to a close a protracted battle that began with the refinery’s closing in 2012, and a failed attempt at acquisition by Atlantic Basin Refining, Inc. in December of last year.
3 shot, 1 grazed in drive-by shooting on St Croix highway

CHRISTIANSTED, St Croix, USVI — Three men were shot last night November 28, 2015 and a bullet grazed another during a drive-by shooting incident that occurred just after 9:00 p.m., Police Commissioner Delroy Richards, Sr. confirmed to The Consortium. Two of the four men are currently in serious condition, Mr. Richards revealed.
