Governor Mapp pleased with STT Children’s Carnival

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI - Governor of the United States Virgin Islands Kenneth E. Mapp on Friday April 29, 2016 said he was pleased to see a strong turnout — at least in the carnival square where all main performances traditionally take place (there were complaints of low turnouts throughout the carnival route) — for the Children’s Parade, which has struggled with attendance in recent years.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, VI — US Virgin Islands' Governor Kenneth E. Mapp and Lieutenant Governor Osbert E. Potter could receive their new limousines, worth $350,000 in total, after a Kurt Vialet amendment changed language in a bill intended to purchase emergency vehicles for first responder and law enforcement agencies of the US Virgin Islands (USVI) government.

Mapp vetoed bill no. 31-0292 on Monday Janauary 4, 2015, which would prevent non-residents hired by or owning an EDC beneficiary company from achieving residency status during their period of employment or ownership.
