VI CONSORTIUM

CRUZ BAY, St John, USVI — The St John 2016 Festival ended on Monday July 4, 2016 with a colorful parade, and later that evening with fireworks commemorating Independence Day, and a finale Festival Village night that closed with the legendary Krosfyah band out of Barbados.

The island’s j’ouvert morning event, which happened at about 7:00 a.m. and lasted just over an hour, was nothing to scuff at, according to Consortium reporter Ernice Gilbert.

There governor said yesterday that they had 200,000.00 to work with. What a beautiful celebration yesterday. Today is July 5, 2016. There are no signs of festival in the BVI. Our friends from across the seas said that they can lend the BVI participants to take part in our parade. I think we may have to take them up on their offer. From how things are looking right now it does not seems as if we are having anything at all. The only things it seems as if we are going to have is horse race on the Tuesday. This is a crying shame. We have allow our country to come to nothing. Last year was garbage and it would seems as if it is going to be the same this year. I noticed that St. John everyone came out to support, young, in between and the senior citizens of the USVI were all in St. John yesterday. I am praying that we can at least get our act together.

We didn't heard no bickering from st thomas and st john this year...They loved and enjoyed their parades...No one was bickering about money...They all came out in droves and celebrated unlike us here in the bvi...

Let the NDP government tell you what’s they doing they are the dictators for whatever happens in this country. You don’t see how he has the education system mess up. Last year didn’t the education politician had a troupe that won the first prize let him bring the troupe again. That might be the only troupe along with the heritage troupe to come out and support his festival. They just mess up the damn country and everyone is crying out.
