Australian arrested for failing to declare monies to Customs

- Slapped with charges for Untrue Declaration & Engagement in Smuggling

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A 64 year old native of Australia was on August 31, 2019 arrested and charged for Failure to Declare Monies to Customs, Untrue Declaration and Engagement in Smuggling.

According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), in its Arrest Blotter for August 25 to 31, 2019, at around 8:00pm police arrested and charged Warwick James Reid, 64, for the alleged offences.

Mr Reid appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison to re-appear before the Magistrate’s Court on September 9, 2019 at 9:00am.

BURGLARY

On 27-08-19 at 11:25am, Police arrested and charged Lyrhon Fahie, 27 of Windy Hill, Virgin Gorda for Burglary. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 30-10-19 at 9:00am.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED DRUG

On 30-08-19 at 3:20pm, Police arrested and charged Kyle Kabel, 19 of Windy Hill, Virgin Gorda for Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was granted bail in the amount of $2,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 30-10-19 at 9:00am.

ASSAULT OCCASIONING ACTUAL BODILY HARM

On 26-08-19 at 01:30am, Police arrested and charged Denville Clarke, 43 of Fort Recovery for Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Criminal Trespass. He was granted bail in the amount of $10,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 08-10-19 at 9:00am .

COMMON ASSAULT

On 27-08-19 at 10:17pm, Police arrested and charged Wakeem Guishard, 31 of Carrot Bay for Common Assault and Resisting Arrest. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 06-11-19 at 9:00am.

On 31-08-19 at 11:50am, Police arrested and charged Hopeton Campbell, 28 of Horse Path for Common Assault and Armed with an Offensive Weapon. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 06-11-19 at 9:00am.

DESTROYING PROPERTY

On 25-08-19 at 10:00pm, Police arrested and charged David Alphonse, 27 of The Valley, Virgin Gorda for Destroying Property. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 30-10-19 at 9:00am.

FAILURE TO DECLARE

On 31-08-19 at 8:00pm, Police arrested and charged Warwick James Reid, a 64 year old native of Australia for Failure to Declare Monies to Customs, Untrue Declaration and Engagement in Smuggling. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison to re-appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 09-09-19 at 9:00am. 

DRIVING WITHOUT DRIVER’S LICENSE

On 29-08-19 at 1:00pm, Police arrested and charged Shedron Richardson, 25 of Towers, West End for Driving Without Diver’s License, Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle, Driving an Uninsured Vehicle, Failing to Stop at the Scene of a Traffic Accident and Reckless Driving. He was granted bail in the amount of $5,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 09-10-19 at 9:00am.

FAILING TO STOP AT THE SOUND OF A SIREN

On 29-08-19 at 1700hrs, Police arrested and charged Akil Robinson, 23 of Passo Road, The Valley, Virgin Gorda for Failing to Stop at the Sound of a Siren. He was granted bail in the amount of $2,000 with one signed surety to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on 30-10-19 at 9:00am.
