Smith, a former businessman and a third district candidate with the United Party (UP) was pronounced dead at Peebles Hospital after being rushed there in a reportedly unconscious state after being pulled from a partially submerged vehicle that was involved in an accident on Sunday January 8, 2012.

The accident, between two vehicles, had resulted in the vehicle that Smith was driving toppling into the sea at Freshwater Pond, West End.

The viewing of Smith's body will be done from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by the service at Sea Cows Bay Methodist church. Burial will take place at Sandy Ground Family Cemetery in Palestina Estate.

The viewing for Jevaughn Charles will be held from 9 a.m. to 10: 30 a.m. followed by service at New Testament Church in Baughers Bay. Interment will take place at the Purcell Cemetery.

Charles, 27, of Purcell Estate, succumbed in Puerto Rico on January 3, 2012 from an injury he reportedly suffered while attempting back flips on Brewers Bay beach on December 13, 2011. He was a technician at Horizon Yacht Charters in Nanny Cay.

According to co-founder of Horizon Yacht Charters (BVI) Sylvia Driver, Jevaughn was an “absolutely wonderful person to work with. He had a smile for everyone. He will be missed”.
