UWI Guild donates bench, pledges to paint FLPS classroom


The Guild built, painted and donated the bench and has also committed to the painting of a classroom, a task which the principal Mrs Deborah James described as "much needed".
On hand to make the donation were the 2019/2020 Guild members chapter made up of Chair Person, Latoya Winter, Deputy Chair Makeba Joseph and Academic Representative Keimar Greene who were also assisted by UWI staff members Tanisha Todd and Shanquie Pierre.

In attendance to help recognize the efforts of the Guild was Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr The Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7).
According to a release on the initiative, the Minister not only thanked the Guild for their kind and needed donations, but spoke to the children on the importance of caring for their school community.
Hon Wheatley further recognized the observance of child awareness month and made a donation of cupcakes to the students of the school.
