USVI’s Stacey E. Plaskett mentioned in latest Epstein files released
Plaskett, according to a Western Journal article, which quoted political news outlet NOTUS, said that Plaskett arranged to visit the infamous Epstein island, according to a series of 2014 emails sent several years after Epstein’s Florida conviction on sex crimes.
The DOJ released three million pages, 180,000 pictures, and 2,000 videos on January 30, 2026.
In the latest set of files released, one of Epstein’s assistants asked Plaskett, “Will you be able to meet with Jeffrey on his island on Monday Aug. 18th at 11 am?”
She was again mentioned in the files when his assistant, Lesley Groff, scheduled what was termed a “phone date” between the two.
Groff wrote Plaskett in 2016 that “Jeffrey has tried for you a few times on your cell but has been unsuccessful” and urged her to call him.
Plaskett responded within minutes, saying, “Thanks. Spoke with him.”
Campaign donations
Plaskett contacted Epstein to secure campaign donations in 2017 and 2018.
The New York Post, in its reporting, shows Plaskett texting Epstein saying, “I know you’re tremendously busy. Thanks so much for taking time and sharing ideas and thoughts. I appreciate your support and hope I’m not presumptuous to consider you a friend,” according to the New York Post.
He replied, “Privileged to be called friend [sic].”
It was also revealed that Plaskett met Epstein at his office when, on May 13, 2019, he wished Plaskett a happy birthday, and she asked how he knew the date.
“You told me when you were in my office,” Epstein told her, to which she responded, “You’re good.” Epstein replied, “No, I’m bad, but I’m thoughtful.”
Texting during hearing
The Washington Post reported in 2025 that during a February 2019 hearing, Epstein texted Plaskett, writing “Great outfit"
“You look great,” he texted at 10:22 AM, “Thanks!” she said in reply.
The article continued that one minute after Plaskett was on TV making chewing motions, Epstein asked her, “Are you chewing [?]”
“Not any more,” she replied. “Chewing interior of my mouth. Bad habit from middle school”
One minute after Plaskett finished questioning former Trump attorney Michael Cohen at the hearing, Epstein wrote her, saying, “Good work.”
Epstein, who was facing charges of sex trafficking involving dozens of underage girls, was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019. He was being held pending trial at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, after being arrested on July 6, 2029, at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey as he was returning from Paris on his private jet. He faced a maximum sentence of 45 years in prison.
In November 2025, the House held a vote to censure Plaskett, but it failed.
Republican Representative Ralph W. Norman of South Carolina said in introducing his motion to censure Plaskett, said “No one who turns to a convicted predator for input on how to conduct official business, especially in a congressional hearing, should sit on the Intelligence Committee or any committee, for that matter. This is about restoring trust in an institution that desperately needs it.”
