USVI: Lt. Gov. Roach raises possibility of USVI & VI combining

Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach used his remarks at the University of the Virgin Islands’ St. Croix commencement ceremony on Friday to deliver a far-reaching message on the future of the territory, telling graduates that the current relationship between the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United States should not be viewed as permanent, and warning that the next generation will be called upon to decide what the Virgin Islands ultimately becomes.

Gov Bryan signs Executive Order banning firearms in Gov't buildings across USVI

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr. has signed an executive order establishing a territory-wide firearms policy for government buildings and workspaces in the US Virgin Islands, creating a uniform rule that prohibits most people from carrying firearms or ammunition inside those spaces, regardless of whether they hold a concealed carry license or another firearm license.

Department of Health’s Epidemiology Division says 2025 brought the territory’s highest influenza case count in the past five years, a hand, foot, and mouth disease outbreak that spread across schools and day cares, continued dengue and COVID-19 surveillance, expanded lead and legionella investigations, and a major upgrade to the territory’s disease-tracking system.
