FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, VI- A man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon, December 27, 2025, in Estate Glynn, marking the latest homicide on St. Croix as the territory’s 2025 murder count climbed to 34, according to the V.I. Police Department.

VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte said the shooting occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, in the vicinity of the Crab Queen establishment. At approximately 1:13 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received multiple reports of a shooting at the location, with callers indicating that a male had been shot.

Police officers responded to the scene and located an unresponsive male inside a vehicle. The victim was found in the driver’s seat and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Emergency medical personnel also responded, but upon their arrival, the man was determined to have no signs of life and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was later identified as D'Andre Friday, age 25. 

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing. No information was immediately released regarding suspects, motive, or whether the shooting was targeted.

Saturday’s killing adds to a growing tally of homicides across the U.S. Virgin Islands this year. As of December 27, the territory has recorded 34 homicides in 2025. Of those, 16 occurred on St. Croix, 16 on St. Thomas, and two on St. John, according to figures provided by VIPD.
