US President Biden calls UK PM’s economic policies 'a mistake'
President Biden also said the economic turmoil that followed the Truss government's mini-budget had been "predictable".
Chancellor Kwasi A.A. Kwarteng was the first head to roll following public and internal backlash.
According to the BBC on October 16, 2022, Mr Biden was asked by reporters about the prime minister's attempt to boost growth with unfunded tax cuts - what the reporter called the "trickle-down plan that she has had to back away from".
‘I wasn't the only one that thought it was a mistake’- President Biden
The president replied: "Well, it's predictable. I wasn't the only one that thought it was a mistake."
He added: "I think that the idea of cutting taxes on the super-wealthy at a time when - anyway, I just think - I disagreed with the policy, but that's up to Great Britain to make that judgment, not me."
Mr Biden has long been critical of the economic theory at the heart of the prime minister's policy, namely that cutting taxes on businesses and the rich generates growth that allows wealth to "trickle down" to all sectors of society.
Truss under pressure
Meanwhile, Conservative MPs are already plotting to replace Truss as party leader on account of her “disastrous” first month in office.
There are also calls for Truss to resign.
Mary Elizabeth Truss is a former Minister for Overseas Territories and was responsible for the controversial reserved Order in Council to suspend the Virgin Islands Constitution at the whim of the Governor.

Richi Sunak should be in the job! It’s also the US making in creating an economic disaster for the European peninsular.
Russia is a global power and they must be given a seat at the table. New negotiations must be on the way between the west Ukraine and Russia! Peace talks can bring an end to the war.
Ukraine must reject its bid for NATO membership and concede annexed region’s in the east to Russia. Countries in the west can facilitate these positions by first reversing all sanctions and supporting Russian energy in the free market!
