The event took place at the Kim Collins Stadium in Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis, from July 4 to July 6, 2026.

The 14-member athletics team, comprised of 4 females and 10 males, collectively earned a total of 130 points, securing 3rd place overall. 

The Virgin Islands team set new national records, and several athletes excelled in their respective events, achieving top placements. 

In a Facebook post, the BVI Athletics Association expressed gratitude to the coaches and the team, stating, "A huge congratulations to Coaches Burt 'Percy' Dorsett and Jonel Lacey for their excellent team management and coaching. To our athletes—what an amazing showcase of BVI talent, speed, and team spirit. In Jougu's voice, 'Tell them that we are here!'"

Meantime, on the final day, Jaleel N. J. Croal established a new meet and facility record by dominating the 100M event at the ANOCES Championships with a remarkable finish of 10.18 seconds.

Croal's winning time was also a new Meet and Facility Record.

Track & Field

Deya Y. Erickson won Gold for Team BVI by clocking a time of 13.54 seconds (+3.4 wind) in the 100M hurdles, marking VI's first gold medal at these championships.

In a notable performance, the VI Twins, Djimon L. Gumbs and Diamante B. Gumbs, captured Gold and Bronze, respectively. Djimon L. Gumbs achieved an impressive throw of 19.01 meters, despite challenging winds, to take the top spot, while Diamante Gumbs earned the bronze medal with a throw of 15.55 meters.

The Virgin Islands continued their medal success when Wanyae Belle, after finishing second in the semi-finals, sprinted to victory in the 200M finals with a time of 20.64 seconds, claiming Gold. Jahshani Farrington also secured a medal, finishing with a Silver-worthy time of 2:01.75 in the 800M.

Adriano Gumbs and Joshua Hill both advanced to the finals in the 400M. Gumbs finished second in Heat 1 with a qualifying time of 48.36 seconds, while Hill held on to second place in Heat 2, finishing in 38.40 seconds. Both athletes will compete in the finals on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

J'Den Jackson finished 5th in the 200M finals after securing his spot with a third-place finish in the semi-finals. He lined up next to teammate Wanyae Belle, but fell short of the podium, completing the race in 21.36 seconds.

Jah'kyla Morton was the sole competitor in the Women's High Jump. Her mark of 1.65 meters was categorised as 'exhibition.' Despite knowing she could not win a medal, Jah'kyla performed valiantly for the crowd and attempted a jump at 1.70 meters in challenging wind conditions, though she was unsuccessful.

Long Jump

Long jumper Khybah Dawson made history at the ANOCES Championships by repeatedly breaking the Long Jump meet and facility records with each jump. He ultimately secured Gold with a leap of 7.81 meters, earning a new nickname, "Spiderman," as the crowd started chanting for him and lining up for autographs.
