UPDATE: Three from VI busted with drugs, cash after high speed boat chase

NORMAN ISLAND, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed that three persons from the Virgin Islands (VI) have been arrested following a U.S. led operation that resulted in a vessel being intercepted near Norman Island with a quantity of drugs and cash.

Police said the incident occurred at around 1:00pm pm today, July 22, 2022, 

According to the RVIPF, three male residents of the VI were arrested and are now in custody.

While the RVIPF added that no further information can be released at this time our news centre will bring more information as it becomes available.

High-speed chase between US Coast Guard & power boat ends @ Norman Island
- arrests allegedly made

NORMAN ISLAND, VI- Information just reaching our newsroom is that there was a high speed chase between the US Coast Guard and a small power boat that ended at Norman Island today, July 22, 2022.

According to reports, arrests have been made.

It is unclear how many persons have been arrested and whether they are from the Virgin Islands.

It is also unclear to our news room at this time why the speed boat was being pursued.

More details to follow.

      If the chase starts in US waters they can chase the in BVI waters but they will have to inform BVI authorities and BVI will do the arresting and prosecuting, same go both was, so stop asking silly questions, USVI and BVI has an agreement in place for these kinds of operations

So many tourists on boats taping this and not one single post or outrage on the damage this will do…What happen reality of what the BVI is got your tongues????Again a leaked tape spread by sharing can never compare to the damage this and other news worthy arrests do to the BVI. I am sure those tourists that witnessed this and WILL tell their friends and family in which ever country they reside in, will do more damage than the leaked video let that sink in for a moment.         No argue about their sainthood. For certain,they have not added to the degradation of these VI. They are not up Balsum on taxpayers dime for their lifetime, they never murdered BVIslanders their hosts and breadbasketthey are not the cause for overcrowded prison ,courts and shortage of probono and free legal assist. They have not cause the education system to hit rock bottom or forming a gimee line, causing FSN to never have enough. Their children are not pests with bikes keeping people awake all night and the asking for handouts for their untimely burial..They are assets unlike dem others whose contributions are predictably in the minus column ,liabilities in their home countries and wherever they wash ashore......

    Why dont you guys go back to the wonderful & super safe lands you came from? I wouldn't want to live in many of those places real talk.

    Despite all of this the BVI is one of THE SAFEST & most beautiful places on earth to live & explore. Some will deny it while being attracted like a magnet to the VI & try to dominate it at the expense of locals because you know the crazies already messed up your homelands.
