- cash & jewellery stolen from patrons; Magazine of live rounds left behind

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- Two gunmen pounced on De La Santa’s Bakery and Restaurant in Sea Cows Bay, Tortola, last evening, January 28, 2021, robbing the establishment of an undisclosed amount of money and also relieved patrons of cash and jewellery.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, at approximately 10:00 pm two unmasked but “tightly hooded” men entered the De La Santa Bakery and Restaurant. One of the gunmen allegedly stood guard while the other jumped the counter and took all the cash from the cash register.

The cashier, who reportedly was in the kitchen at the time, allegedly ran out of the establishment and screamed to raise an alarm.

Gun placed to head of patrons

The gunmen then allegedly proceeded to the Charles Chill Spot located to the rear of the bakery and restaurant, where a number of patrons were. They held two of the male patrons by placing a gun to their heads, took off their jewellery and relieved them of cash.

They then allegedly took out the cash pan belonging to the business and the cashier’s handbag, which was nearby, before escaping in an unidentified car.

Firearm magazine left behind

During the escape, the gunmen allegedly dropped a firearm magazine with live ammunition in the bar.

Police allegedly subsequently found contents of the cashier’s bag on the premises.

It is our information that CCTV footage is being reviewed for further evidence.

This is wrong on so many levels. Businesses were closed for so long, now can open and they are robbing them of what little income they can get now. They are robbing patrons who can hardly pay rent because of layoffs, and now the patrons can find work again, and the robbers are taking that too. Putting a gun to someone’s head is very traumatic. These no good BUMS need someone to put a **** in their behind each and every time they go to rob someone. I am sick of these low life scum and hope people get them back for their dirty deeds

Any time a couple of them get shot they will stop.
Once they are charged you need to publish their pictures so everyone can brand them as the criminals they are.
