ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) continues to monitor a tropical wave that could develop within the next seven days.

DDM stated on its Facebook page today, September 22, 2024, that a tropical wave is expected to move west from the coast of Africa today or tomorrow.

"It is possible that this system will gradually develop from then on, and a tropical depression could form next week as the wave moves west across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic," DDM stated.

Residents are urged to monitor for updates and stay prepared.

A group of us were in a discussion concern these failed predictions...We all agree that with all this technology the old folks back then were better and more accurate of predicting storms..Just by looking at the animals and birds reaction weeks before, the Sun, the Sky, the clouds....

The NHC forecast is only 20% in the next 2 days then 70% in the next 3 days. I trust the NHC more than the DDM.
