ST. THOMAS, USVI- After three years of being on the run, officers of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) have apprehended Erick Rabsatt, who has been wanted in connection with the shooting death of Jaimez A.J. Stoutt in the Virgin Islands (VI).

Stoutt, 31, was fatally shot during the early hours of December 11, 2021, sometime after 1:00 AM at a popular Nightclub and Sports Bar in Free Bottom, Tortola.

The U.S Army veteran and a local businessman in the VI later succumbed to his injuries at the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

Rabsatt awaiting extradition to VI

In January 2022, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) issued a warrant for Rabsatt’s arrest in connection to Stoutt’s death.

According to information reaching our news centre, Rabsatt, who is in St. Thomas, is awaiting extradition back to the VI to face charges in the case.

Prayers are answered. Now, let due process and justice proceed. This will bring some comfort for Jaimez’s family, though the capture of this alleged murderer will not bring Jairmrz back. His parents, partner and young son will be robbed of the joy his love, physical presence brought.

Happy to hear this and I pray that other victims will get their justice, too. Those of us who have lost a loved one to gun violence know how much pain it brings as every day goes by without them.

The Home Town Commissioner being effective under Malone and Frazer(from BVI) heading law enforcement our country was relatively safe both of them were removed in favour of people from Buckingham and now look at law enforcement these days when last u see police in road town our capital: do you see any police in your area you will see a group of then after a traffic accident or after some crime went down: in a room sitting down watching close circuit cameras

Always nice to know when you just want to run your mouth bad talking the BVI, first of all FSC is not responsible for individuals as it clearly states, Financial Services Commission. So, looking at people pocket and envy what they have, as it has become the norm of people just pocket watching and because u don't have the other person got from corruption. There are several attributes to youths having boat and paying rent like they not paying rent but live with the parents or family and boats are their interest, so they eat ramen and save, or that's impossible because you like many other envy them. And when the people of the BVI defend their self its Xenophobia.

What song y'all had sing when mark was commissioner? Stop that wathchy watchy?

That same mentality is why we got murders of young "business men"

But you right inno lemme stop watching the youths who have on 25k Gucci chains, fast boats, scooters, rentals and don't question how they got all those assets with no job...

Let's stop watching wa we neighbours doing and just pretend the scent of drug running is not stinking up the neighbourhood.

Let's stop watching them man fr if a next one bite the dust of the lifestyle they choose and youths going missing at sea we should mind out business.

If Andrew had got away with this Coco deal and we saw him building big houses and all kinda thing don't watch and question cuz that jealousy. Don't bother investigate or think about it just let the corruption fester until it becomes so blatant that we wonder how we got here..

The youths using sex drugs given to them by grown men to bring into school? Don't watch that guys thats somebody hustle

A young business man shot up again but he has 10 Gucci chains 3 businesses that always involve rentals, heavy equipment or laundry mats... Don't question or watch tjY guys maybe someone targeted them out jealously I guess but didn't bother taking their valuables weird....
We some Real clowns mehson. Just black list us if that's our mentality

  • Why do they run? (02/05/2025, 10:42) Like (35) Dislike (3) Reply
It always puzzles me why people who allegedly commit crimes such as murder run? In my view, if you are man/woman enough to pull the trigger, be man/woman enough to stay at the scene of the crime and say I killed him/her.

But no, they always run in practically most cases. Here is the reason why? They are cowards to begin. Their gun gave them the courage they were lacking.

So, here is an example of a coward who could not handle conflict in a non lethal way, and crossed over to the dark side. There is no turning back now. It's too late. It's time to face the music. You can run but you cannot hide even if it takes years.

You will always be a prisoner in your mind because you know in your head you are a killer and your actions are unacceptable and punishably by societal standards. One of the highest risk of death among young black men is other young black men. Parents need to remind their kids, sons in particular of that fact.

We need to teach our boys how to be men, how to resolve conflict without violence, and if they do what the consequences are. Lets hope the DPP office does not let the family down.

This guy killed a US Veteran, let's keep him to face federal charges here and take him to the electric chair.

I would agree to that, we should keep him to face Federal charges however, he committed the crime on BVI soil and have to stand trial there.

@Am Mil Vet col, pure nonsense. The alleged crime was committed in theBVI ,The USVI can try him for illegal entry. But doubt it will. It just may turn him over to BVI authorities.

@ resident. Trump gets no credit for this arrest! The Orange dictator does not know anything that happens here or in the USVI, nor does he care. Give credit to the people who actually caught this horrid criminal and murderer.

The trapped rat is now moving from one cage to another in a locked cage. By the way, rat does not always mean being a snitch only, he was a fugitive for 3 years slipping into the Island under the cover of darkness plenty of times during the last 3 years. Little did he knew or suspect he was being watched especially in the USVI. He was not about to enjoy and have fun at another USVI Carnaval.

It would only be a matter of time before dude got snatched up. Dude set his own trap for himself by running to the USVI to hide out. He may as well had given himself up to the police that night and take his lick for what he did. These little wanna punks or thugs or whatever you want to call them, playing this tough game is the first to run and hide when they commit a crime. LITTLE WET SOFT A&& PUNKS IS WHAT THEY ARE. BET HE SHEDDING TEAS KNOWING THAT HE WILL KNOW BE LIVING IN A LOCKED IN CAGE. MUST SAY, THE LITTLE BOY OF THE VICTIM IS THE SPITTING IMAGE OF HIS DAD, YOU SEE HIM, YOU SEE HIS DAD. One can only imagine the magnitude of the pain, suffering , heartache , etc., a parent, a mother , etc.; endures having lost a precious child through a senseless murder. It probably is more painful when the alleged murderer had avoided being brought to justice,. Hopefully, the arrest of Jamiez’s Stoutt’s alleged murderer lessens the pain and suffering perhaps.

Moreover, the VI prides itself, not on the law of the jungle, but on the rule of law and its twin— democracy, so the alleged murderer will get his day in court, due proces, etc. Moreover, one can only hope that at end of the judicial process, perhaps, Jamiez’s parents and family, etc., can get some closure, perhaps. May the parents find the strength, courage, and endurance to stay strong. Let’s keep them in our prayers????????????????????????.

E.Leonard, your blog speaks for itself. However, thanks for only mentioning Jamiez Stoutt, the victim name, not the name of the murderer. You were cautious in using the term “ alleged murderer.” Sorry, but he is the murderer. And may God have grace and mercy on him, though he showed no mercy for Jamiez. I pray for Jamiez’s family.
